Power Cut & Tanks Hitting 30 Degrees!

Our electric has been off for a few hours roadworks down the road,updating a mains cable

Anyhows its scorching here,tanks have risen to 30 degrees,not good when you have corys

So with all doors & windows open,i have done a cool w/c and added ice-cubes,it has dropped to 28 degrees atm,but i'm worried for my fishies

I hope they put it back on soon!

Think you will be ok mate, heats over tommorow, rain due to hit wales around 5am if not before and move across country..

I hope it's sorted soon. Have you tried freezing a big bottle full of water instead of ice cubes? It would be more effective at lowering the temp of your tank.

I hope my filters will be ok,3 of them are external cannisters,so hopefully ok,the other is a hob filter which drains once the power is off,so had to take it off the tank and remove intake so i can soak it in tank water until its back on again

At 30c the bacteria will prob reproducing faster anyway, will be like a holiday for them lol

Defo keep a 2lr bottle of water in the freezer and drop it in that tank for times like this

Well good news,power came back on around 4.20pm, filters back up and running,and fish dont appear to be any worse for wear atm...

Tanks slowly dropping now the ceiling fan is back on,thank god!
Just about to feed them bloodworm
