I've just installed a 30-inch power compact fluorescent light strip on my 29-gallon aquarium. It has a 65-watt lamp in it (just enough for my plants to thrive, I think). At the same time, I got some of Current's blue "lunar light" LED units. I've used some poster-mounting squares to put them in the light strip, but they're "almost" touching the power compact lamp. I'm a little worried about whether they'll melt or burn being so close to the lamp.
Can anyone tell me how much heat the lamp puts out? And should I be worried about the lunar lights' plastic housing? If necessary I can mount them at the ends of the strip light, further from the edges of the bulb, but then only the ends of my aquarium are illuminated at night.
