i have kept an oscar before but this was when i had my first ever tank so i gave it away as i found out that the tank wasn't big enough. but anyway here's my plan someone local to me has agreed to take my ellioti, female nic and brassiliensis in exchange for their oscar. now do you think i could keep an oscar with my group of 4 geophagus suris? this is in my rio 400 btw.

I see no reason why you couldnt, The tank is plenty large enough for the 5 fish (1 x Oscar, 4 x Suri's) full grown, So long as the Suri are fairly well grown already and the Oscar isnt at full size, ie, large enough to eat them, they will be fine. Aggression wise, unless you happen to have a very aggressive Oscar, the Suri's are well able to handle a Oscar.

agreed my suris were around 6 to 7 inches and could more than handle themselves , in fact i actually had to re-home them cos they were beating up on my sevs . so as long as they cant fit in the oscars mouth i see no issues really

You should be able to.Just hope you don't get a real big or aggressive oscar, having the potential to get 16".

Why are you doing such a silly swap though?!!
