possibly breeding kribs

From this, and my personal experiences, you can't "force" a pair. Some just don't like each other and that can result in the death of one. They are a bit like people....they don't get along with everyone
Me too. My first male was too small. When I put a big guy in, BINGO. It was love at first shimmer.

Wolfie33, I think you had a lucky pairing to start off with. That's why you've not had many problems with pairings.

How much does your LFS buy your Krib fry for?
Well it all depends
usually they wont take them before 8 months and from that timeline they'll pay £1(credit) or 75p cash,so i go for the credit.
If i want rid of the fry because of another project then between 5-8 month then it can drop by usually 25p on both.
Im sure i could get a better deal if i worked on it but it suits me fine.

As for what i said about there very easy to breed i accept there can be problems but after a while you learn not to put a young male with a larger female and expect results, its all just learning isn't it.

The other thing with kribs you usually read about is that to remove the eggs from the parents can be damaging for the future of the pair,i have never found this myself and i remove 1 day before hatching and mine repeatedly breed.Although it is a little sad to see the mother searching for her eggs.

Mine paired off right away after i got em and laid eggies about 5 days l8er now i have 9 krib fry that are bout this big: ____

I got lucky with mine as well. I bought a "pair" from an idiotic LFS.....turned out to be 2 females -_-

One week later, I found a male and added him. One female immediately took to him and they chased the other female until I removed her. They spawned 10 days later, and brought the first batch of fry out 10 days after that. That pair got along beautifully with never an issue.

My second pair started out as 1m/6f in a growout tank. The male was in heaven once the females became old enough to spawn. He "went through the motions" with at least 3 of the females, but no fry. I removed all but one female and they still spawned for 6 more months before any fry made it to freeswim. Now that pair is regularly giving me fry.

I just believe it's best to let them choose. It's always worked out for the better in my tanks anyway :)
