I noticed a couple of 'lighter/white' marks on one of my GBR females a couple of days ago but wasn`t sure if it was the light on her 'shimmery spots' or not. I`ve looked again this morning and I think a couple of my rummys have small spots on them too now

I currently have, Rummys, danios, Apistos, GBR`s, corys, loaches and a plec in the 180ltr tank. Is it safe to treat the whole tank? I obviously don`t want any of the fish to be at risk of dying but obviously I need to treat them.

All help greatly appreciated.

You will need to treat the whole tank as it is highly unlikely only one fish is infected.

Rasie the temp to 30C (this speeds up the ich cycle) and treat the tank as per the instructions.

Thanks a lot Crystal.

I`ve previously treated one of my Fighters with the temp rise and all was successful but wasn`t sure if it was ok to treat the community tank as a whole. Will get on and sort it all out.

Thanks again :)

Don't forget to increase the aeration too, as the maximum saturation of oxygen in 30C water is significantly less than ~25C ;)

Already read your replies on other 'whitespot' posts and have done as you suggested. I`ve raised the spraybar in the tank and it sounds like a waterfall in the living room now
But at least the fish will be getting the oxygen they need so hubby has been told he`ll just have to put up with the noise for a while :D

Thankyou B-)
