Hi, was just wondering if anyone had some advice for me about my beta, i noticed he stoped eating today and after a closer look i noticed an inflamed gill along with a white spot on the underside interior of the gill. I talked to a local pet store and they recommend mardel maracyn which i have put in his bowl (packet did not say quarantine fish prior to giving maradel maracyn). thanks for any help. :) (i attached the full images for a better look)

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I need better pictures to identify the problem.

It's unlikely to be bacterial so don't use the Maracyn.
Maracyn is an anti-biotic and these should not be used on anything unless it has a known bacterial infection that has not responded to normal medications. Improper use and mis-use of anti-biotics has lead to drug resistant bacteria that KILL people, animals, birds, reptiles and fish.
