Ok, one of my corys had a spot of mouth fungus/bacterial infection in Rocket's tank, unfortunately I don;t have a hospital tank so I had to medicate with Rocket (my betta) still in there :( Last night he was fine and the Cory was somewhat not. This morning the cory was hanging at the top of the tank on some plants and in a really bad way, Rocket was somewhat listlessly laying on top of my filter, I assume so he could get air easily. I'm not sure if the air stone bugged him with the extra surface agitation or he was having problems getting enough oxygen.

Anyway, the Cory sadly died earlier :rip: and rocket seemed seriously listless, so I did a *large* water change, about 50% incase the medication was affecting him. Now he's starting to swim around a bit more, tho still somewhat lethargic. I'll do another water change in the afternoon, and get some carbon to remove the meds.

But I was thinking, one of the ingredients used is phenoxyehtanol, which on a google search is used as a bacteriacide but also as an anasthetic. I think he's jsut stoned... and coming out of anasthesia... I'f I've killed him I'm gonna be extremely annoyed with me :(

The stats are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5-10 nitrate which is fine. He has really perked up quite a bit since this morning and is back to swimming around the tank, albeit a bit more slowly than usual, with more rest breaks.

I just fed him, he's not as hungry as he usually is, but he did eat, so I'll just need to keep an eye on him. He doesn't seem to mind the extra attention, lol. I'll do another water change tomorrow just ot be sure there's not much medication left in the tank, reluctant to change more today. Won't really know if the bacteria in the filter were affected for a couple of days I suppose. Just in case I have a spare filter running in tandem in the big tank which I can steal the foam from if that has happened.

I think he's gonna be fine, mostly I was amused at the thought of a stoned fish :D

*edit* According to the packaging the med is "filter safe" of course it is anti bacterial so I'll take that with a pinch of salt. Wonder if he's just missing his little Corydora buddy...
