I went and got holly from my lfs, they rehomed all the girls but her, her fins are torn, shes got scales missing, she looks like her wounds may be infected, and theres a spot like a salt grain on her side, so i think shes coming down with ich

im so frikkin angry right now, thats it shes staying with me, and not being rehomed

on the plus side i still have the betta bug lol brought home a cambo male today, who looks very very think and has torn fins too, so i might rehome him once hes plumped up and healed up :hyper:

aw pheo thats terrible news, can't believe no one wanted her, and she ended up so bad, i'm sure you can make her perfect again :good:

well shes looking better already :)

shes not clamping her fins any more and is actually swimming about full of life and energetic, i would take pic but she wont stat still, but her body is badly marked, poor cow, im just hoping that white spot isnt ich, shes in black water atm, im gonna give her a few days and decide the best course of treatment for her

Glad she is doing better, maybe raise the temp a little and increase the airation just incase it is white spot

unless the water is salted increasing the temp would only help ich to multiply.

P.S. at least she is now back in your loving care pheo, and with only one girl, you won't have to worry about aggression issues. good luck with her :)

the spot has gone

shes much livlier this morning and full of colour bless her

Well i never knew that, guess you do learn something new everyday, thanks ibble :good:
thats ok, i guess i should probably explain the reason why, was in a bit of a hurry last time.
basically, the reason you turn up the temp is to increase the speed of the ich lifecycle, because it can only be killed in its free swimming stage, so the meds and/or salt kill it off quicker at higher temps, but if there is nothing in there to kill it, it simply breeds faster and spreads more
hope that made sense, i'm not feeling very bright today.
