I have a friend who thought it would be a good idea to put a blue crayfish in his cichlid tank...betcha can't guess what happened? :(

The cichlids had a nice snack I'm sure.

Yeah, I had a killer crayfish once up until he molted when I first had my two tinfoil barbs. Now both of them are about 8''.

You got it, it looked like something out of a horror movie. Expensive snack though, told him to stick with brine shrimp on occasion.

i dont need to guess!
but there is more than one member here who does keep a crayfish with cichlids, and successfully by all accounts. not something to do unless you know both critters very well, even then, it most often goes wrong!

Yeah, that was a good waste of a few dollars.

i also had blue crayfish in convict tank and my genius didnt realize they molted at first and woke up 1 morning to see my beautiful blue cryfish shell with nothing inside figured my convicts had another 1 of many expensive snacks but to my surprise i had a fighter on my hands and the genius blue found a good place to hide his nasty lookin self while molting and he made it out alive everytime he molted he lasted a very long time almost the size of a small lobster so dont think hes dead for sure they can dig and hide in underground filters or just bout anywhere if they want
