Poly Pads

I replace my polypads weekly. if you have only a few fish in the jewls, you can get away with rinsing the pad, but it will eventualy clogg. there is nothing wrong with cuting to fit, the large poly sheets mentioned earlier, they work just as well. Stick to just the standard Jewel filter system, unless you plan to overstock (not recomended by anyone, and I do ont endorse overstocking in any way), as the Jewel filter system are very effective. The only filter pads in the Jewel system the realy needs replacing, is the carbon sponge, as carbon will become exhusted over time.

if you have a planted aquarium you dont even need the carbon or nitrate sponges, therefore just replace with the blue ones and hey preso......... :)
