Voted no, don't always believe lfs what they tell you, as sometimes they haven't a clue themselves, if you wan't to keep rare fish go to a very good dealers who no's these things.
 
"Hillstream loaches of the genus Homaloptera are referred to as gecko fish in Thailand for their ability to cling-on to various surfaces at different orientations under high water current. These "lizard loaches", as sometimes referred, to have always been difficult to identify due to lack of reliable aquarium literature on them.

Only recently described by in 2000 by Kottelat, Homaloptera confuzona is of the reddish-brown orthogoniata complex. It's distinguishing features are the irregular saddles (that are much more well defined in true H. orthogoniata). Specimens shown were collected from southeastern Thailand."

This is your loach isn't it?

I did a google under "Saddlespot loach" took the latin name and Googled it, found "new species" and there is was.....Homaloptera confuzona - discovered in 2000 - so relatively new.
