I am interested in getting a bottom dweller fsh such as cories or plecs, but i was wondering if there are any plecs that would fit happily in my 70 litre tank?

I have a 60L tank and in it at the moment is an unidentified Ancistrus species that's only roughly 2.5". He is the biggest plec I'd put in a tank that size (and even then I'm taking him out now to make the tank less messy - he's going back in the big tank).

Otocinclus or dwarf cories would be better choices than plecs, unless you can get hold of one of the really small species, Queen Arabesque maybe?

U can add a bn or chinease algea eater, or group of 5 to 6 ottos will take care of the tank.

Pitbulls prefer to be in groups, so dont know if the tank would be big enough - but it might be worth asking someone who's got them?

I wouldn't get either a BN or an algae eater for them (algae eaters get to 10" and once they hit 4", they're very aggressive and should be housed on their own).

I'd say a Queen Arabesque or a group of otos personally :) Otos are great fun - and they'll also keep on top of the algae (or most of it) for you, whereas QAs prefer a meatier diet so are more for "show".

Claros are like bristlenoses but smaller - they might be an option, but I'm not sure how hardy they are or whether they need a well established tank? Otos also need an established tank - how long has yours been running?

I am currently keeping a smallish but adult bristlenose (c. 4 inches) in a 70 ltr Juwel tank. Not my own choice, but her mate turned out to be a bit of a sex fiend. The tank is otherwise lightly stocked, but I am finding I need to do twice-weekly water changes all the same, she is a bit messy. Ive also got extra filtration. In my case, that's fine, I've already got this fish and I want her to be happy, and preferably not to be overrun with fry every 3 weeks. But I don't think I'd have gone out of my way to buy her specially for this tank, if you see what I mean.

Clown or rubber mouthed plecos only grow to 5" from what I understand, and your tank is roughly 20gallons so 1 of them should be fine...
