Plecs Moving Sand Into A Pile -----any Advice ------

just moved the common plec to the 50 gallon
in my 50 g i have sand
& the plec is moving the sand into a big pile
so i now have a a big pile of sand in the my tank
& the rest of the bottom is bard & i can see glass

when he first started doing this i through it was funny
but my tank looks a bit crap now so how can i stop him doing this
any ideas

Keep moving it back, he'll get fed up eventually. My Mbuna do this but i just put it back how i want it and eventually they give up.

yeah same as ferris said when my plec started doing it I just kept putting the sand back everyday and he got bored in the end

is he trying to get under something - ours does it if he finds somewhere he wants to hide - my advice would the for a tank re arange and some bigger bits of bogwood for him to hide in rather than under

yea thats prob it
coz in my 23 g where he was
there were lots of placing to hide
but in the 50 g there no were to hide really
im going to the fish store today anyway so i will get him so thing

& he now has got white stuff on him

i will try to get some stuff for him tomz
what should i do about white stuff
will it just go

Sam you really need to tell everyone all the details about your set up and exactly what your water stats are and how often you do water changes also what fish have you added recently etc, It might also help if you post a shout for help over in the emergency section ASAP

ok than
the tank is about 2 months old
& fish in it are 3 scissors tails 1 common plec & 2 angels ( just got the angels today )
the tank has no nothing in it plant wise
i have just moved a few plant things from my guppies tank
i moved the plec in the 50 g about 5 days ago
i have only had fish in the tank for about 2 weeks
do you think he will die
