hey its news to me.

i was think of getting a small plec like a clown plec and i have bogwood in tank which was fairly expensive, would a plec eat bogwood? i really wouldnt want it do :D

Thanks in Advance

It is believed in some plec species, that the rasping on wood helps aid their digestions. Not all plecs do this though.

thanks and while we are at it can any of you fish fanatics tell me what is the best small fish that sucks on the glass?

How many gallons is the tank.
I had pit bull plecs but they all died to internal parasites, they sucked on the glass.

You can only keep small plecs then.
Pit bull plecs stay small and so do oto's.
Also when buying plecs make sure they don't look thin.

i have ottos and they are fine, as long as you have good water and plenty of veggies if you dont have algae. clown plecs eat wood but not massively fast, you wont see lumps taken out!! in a year they will hardly have made a difference a mm or 2 at most!!! but your tank is too small for clowns. how mature is it? whats the stocking?

probably 3 weeks old now and my stocking is in my sig 10 Zebra Danios, 4 Albino Corydoras im thinking of only getting one plec...like a pitbul plec or a zebra plec (sorry meant zebra not clown)

EDIT : just forget i said anything about zebra plecs :p

well, wait a month or two before introducing more fish as you probably have high ammonia already as you are supposed to add a few fish every week or 2. to allow the good bacteria to build up. plus ottos like to be in matured tank and in groups of AT LEAST 4. preferably 6 and above.
