:( Our pleco 'Spike' has recently been moved to a new tank, checked with LFS on water levels and all was fine so we put Spike in his new home.

Since putting him in, a few days later the water turned cloudy - have read posts in this forum and beleive it could be Bacterial bloom? so will do weekly changes of 25%, next one is due tomorrow.

Now i have noticed that when Spike is sucking the glass, he has 5 areas on the inside of his mouth which are white - and have never been there before - could it be a fungus?

We have changed from gravel to sand - did ask LFS if this was ok for our fish, and was told 'yes' - but could this be the reason.

Any ideas about what i should do, as not as experienced as many of you are at this great forum.

Thanking you in advance for any help

Thank you, could well be, have not seen anything on his fins or body, but will keep a very close eye.

So next step will be to take another water sample to LFS armed with a print out of that thread you have provided tomorrow.

Thanks again

Do some water changes and keep adding the correct amount of med back, to the water removed, good luck.

Good luck, mouth fungus is quite easy to cure, so don't worry to much, you can heal it in good water quality.
