Hi again,

I've managed to catch about half my fish and put them into the new tank ( with a third mature media from old filter). It in considerably bigger than my other in width and depth. Anyway I filled my tank up mostly with fresh water and about 30-40L of 'old tank water' i didnt use more because we've had problems with green water in the other aquarium. I got the new tank one degree below my existing tank, i' planted the plants ive got this morn and so far everything seems fine.

I caught some of the fish, which was highly stressful and I stopped halfway through because the net was not big enough to catch the clowns and they were getting way stressed and so was i ! So i left well alone and maybe do the rest tomorrow.

I dont know if its me being really paranoid, like i always am about my fish, but after about 5 mins of my pleco going in, he was sucking aross the rocks, and the glass at speeds i've never seen him do. He was always hiding under some bogwood in the previous tank and now he is sucking the glass like no tomorrow. I've provided him with bogwood from the old tank , and of course there are hiding spaces. Other fish seem good danios are active, my cardinals are casually swimming in mid space and my bolivian ram seems more perky.

Do you think he is just enjyoing his new home?

I made sure that the PH matched, the temp was good and I even tested for ammonia cos it makes me feel safe.

i wouldnt be overly concerned about the plec. also, i dont think its a bad thing that you didnt put all the fish in at once. that 3rd of mature media, technically, is only good for a third of the fish you originally had. putting them all in with a filter thats only 1/3rd cycled is probably not a good idea. id put them in gradually over the week personally.

You're absolutely right, well i say half my fish, in the new tank atm is 2 danios, 1 bolivian ram, 2 serpae tetras, 1 zebra loach, 2 cardinals and the plec. I wish I could have caught them in their groups, cos i dont want them to be lonely, but it wont be long until their friends go in too.

Being that the other fish are still in the old tank ive had to leave a majority of the media in the other filter, but once some more go in, i can take out media accordingly and eventually transfer it all.

Im going to keep a very close eye on the levels and water change if necessary, but im hoping those fish wont pollute my 250L too quickly. :look:

I wont worry for my plec then, its acually nice to see him for a change. :good:

its easier to keep bigger tanks cleaner, so i doubt you'll have any trouble.
