Please Help!

Ok.

All I can suggest really is trying a bacterial med in isolation.
With his laboured breathing it could finish him off.

If you don't have a heater, wrap the isolation tank in blanket with plenty of aeration by adding an airstone.
Get a heater tomorrow if you can.
Let the temp drop gradually. Don't fill the tank back up with warm water changes.
As the unstable temp can make matters worse.

looked more closely some scales on the other side are out as well

what about putting a hot water bottle in and leaving it to stableise or plastic bottle with warm water? i do have some antibacterial medication i can use

Ok.

Keep a look out for swelling and bloating.

No point in using epson salt if he's not bloated.

Once scales stick out is the last stage of dropsy, organ failure.
Fish rarely make it once scales stick out.

Don't bother with the water bottle it could shut the temp up.
The weather warmer now so I would just cover the tank with a blanket to keep the heat in.
You must have plenty of aeration.

What meds do you have in bacterial.

Ok. Not great.

You can double dose in severe cases. But with his heavy breathing I wouldn't.

Here a link for you.

wouldnt he be bloated if he had this though? going to move him in a min, do i use his water or fresh water? also will my other fish be ok?

I forgot you have a med in the main tank.

Also you have no declorinator.

Does it say in the whitespot med instructions if you can use bacterial meds with it.

Scales sticking out can be dropsy, parasites beneath the scales, damage to scales, lumps beneath the scales, or growths.

Fish scales can also stick with slow swelling.

says not to be used with other terminators or similar treatments. Can get more declorinator tommorrow, but all the shops are shut now

Ok.
I would leave it tonight.

There not much to be done with no declorinator.

Tomorrow use some main tank water, than just keep adding fresh water to dilute the med down.
Before you move the fish match ph, and temp.

ok will do. does it sound likely that he won't survive this then? just been reading up on dropsy and it doesnt sound good. what treatment would you reccomend to use as i can pick some up with the declorinator tommorrow.

also can this spread to my other fish?

He dosn't sound good. But don't write him off yet.
It's best to isolate sick fish, as if the fish peck at a dead body desease can pass onto other fish.

The only meds that treat dropsy in the uk are, anti internal bacteria med by interpet, esha 2000.

thats the one i have. ok well i will keep u informed! i have loads going on in the tank tonight, just put my balloon molly in a trap cos i think she is about to have her babies. fingers crossed for my shark then. thankyou for all the help. i will keep you informed.

well sadly my shark died in the night, my boyfriend said he went almost white before hand. I don't know if this helps in identifying why. I am going to get a sample of water to my pet store and see if everythings ok in the tank after work tonight. :(
