after thinking long and hard i want to replace my 60l with a bigger tank.

i have a maxium of 5 foot to play with legnt wise, 1.6 ish foot deep (from the wall outwards) and what ever height although i would like a standard rectuanglar one. (something like 200-300l)

i would like to buy (probably brand new so i have warrenty etc) the tank similar measurements to above, and cabinet (purpose made for the tank)

also i would probably like it to come with preferable external but i dont mind enternal filter and heater. also a decent amount of lighting

i want to spend alot of time making this tank perfect as it is going to be my main tank and i wont be cutting corners. dont have a budget at the moment, will get some ideas first before i think price, obviously want to spend as little as possible

so basically can people please recommend me tanks fitting this requirement. like the name of manufacturer and tank name i,e the first one i looked at was the juwel rio 240

thanks alot

reason for edit: changing my thoughts!

ndaquatics.com. awesome tanks a lot cheaper than retail they build them themselves and sell direct to the public. some of if not the best tanks around imo

what does it mean by cover glasses and what Optiwhite™ glass (front) ?

i like them but by the time you pay for delivery and you have bought all of the hardware then i would say it costs more

just realised if you want a cabinet you pay £200!

how hard it it to make a stand to support 400l?

the cover glass is basicly the sliding glass cover on top of teh tank. couldnt tell you what optiwhite is. you could make a stand easily enough if your diy skills are up to it but remember 400 litres of water weighs not far off half a ton

well im 16 and have an A grade at gcse tech but thats as far as it goes!

yuou have to pay £70 for lights and fitting etc, do you know what lights, how many that would be?

yeah well would have got a* if my project actually worked

the tank i want would cost me £236 deliverd, thats tank only.

i would have to spend about £300 on equipment, plants and fish

and who knows how much on a cabinet

electronics

just had an idea, go to the tip and im sure i could find a cabinet there. probably spend no more then £20 and can always reinforce it if needed. will just have to jump up and down on it to make sure it is strong enough!
