Hello i have a new tank syndrome as ive stupid of me changed too much filter media

its 260 Liters tank i have

1 large 7" plec
11 cardinals
5 Discus

All Nitrite and Nitrate and Amonia are fine as ive done some water change.

Please advice on anything i need to do OR CAN DO ASAP!

Was there still at least a little bit of the old filter media left in the tank?
I would just keep an eye on the water stats and do water changes if you get any ammonia or nitrite reading.
I would also reduce the amount you feed your fish for the time being. Just until the beneficial bacteria has time to multiply... not sure how long, maybe about a week or so depending on the water stats.

Yes ive taken out and swapped about 1/2 of all media maybe more. The water went blurry. Ive transferred 5 discus 1 plec and 8 neons to hospital tank and let about 4 cardinals in the main tank. I hope its ok as the hospital tank has no Filter in it but i will do 60-70% water changes daily So there will be no Nitrite or ammonia .

Have i done the right thing?

If there is no filter in the hospital tank, I would just put them back in to their own tank where there is still some beneficial bacteria. Putting them in to a tank that has no filter and that definitely isn't cycled, you would be very shocked to learn how quickly that ammonia will build up.
Taking the fish out is only going to deprive the bacteria their food source... so when you put the fish back in, you're pretty much gonna be going through the same thing.. your bacteria is gonna have to catch up w/ the new bioload... if that makes any sense.
It would be better just to put the fish back in and do water changes in the main tank until things look ok.
Cloudy water imo isn't really anything to get paranoid over unless you test and get ammonia or nitrite readings.
Have you gotten any ammonia or nitrite readings?

Bleh, that sucks, I'm sorry you're going through this.
All you can do right now is to keep testing that water and keep doing water changes and hope that the mini-cycle you're going through won't last long.

You could always ask here in the forums if anyone is willing to send you some of their mature filter media your way. Or if someone is close enough, you could go pick some up :)

Ive put the fish back to the tank and done another 50% waterchange the water is much clearer now and all fish seems to be doing well. Discus has eyes problems and some teared fins.. ive added Melafix and will add for another 7 days to help with healing. Will do another 25% water change tomorrow morning to help with cycle. So far lost 3 neons and all the reset seems to be doing great.

Thanks for help mate!
