Please Can Anyone Id This Fish

I think its a horseface aswell. I instantly thought it when i saw the pic although my knowledge of species isnt great.............

Its a banded tiger botia

They are a large aggressive botia that do not work well in your average community setup

Thankyou davo86, that is defiantely the fish. I wanted to ID him because i acquired him with the 7ft community tank that i bought off someone else. I added a shoal of neons to the tank and 5 mins later i saw this fish come up and bite one in half. I have taken all the small fish out until i work out what to do with this fish. He is in with fairly big fish at the moment. Their is some krib babies in there but he seems to leave them alone. Is it best to get rid of him

It is definitely going to need to be with tankmates that will hold their own, although in a 7ft tank you might have more luck than most.
I guess it depends on what your preferred stocking for the 7ft tank is?

He is a pretty fish and i would keep him but it depends on if he is likely to kill any of my other fish

The list of fish i have are 1 bgkf, 1 african knife fish, 4 parrot fish, 1 red spotted severum, 1 rotkeil severum, 1 polypterus, 1 weather loach, 4 clown loach, 2 angel fish, 4 silver dollars, 3 rainbow fish, 1 opaline gourami, 4 silver sharks, 10 corys, 5 mollies, 1 botia kubotia, 11 kribs, 5 tiger barbs, 2 common plecs, 2 albino plecs, 1 golden nugget plec, 1 royal plec, 1 blue moori, 1 albino shark, 2 flying foxes, 3 catfish, 1 shrimp.

Are any of these fish likely to be a target, the only ones i could think that wouldnt hold there own is the mollies, but i have another tank that has got platies, swordtails and black phantom tetras that i can put them in. Would any others be at risk as the banded tiger botia gets bigger

I suppose there is a chance it might decide to rip the fins on the angel and gourami, but you never know it might be fine, Most of the species you have should be fine

Also what polypterus species do you have and what size is it atm?
Mine has just got to around 6-7" and has started taking out my dithers including a 4" Giant Danio, a 4" Rainbow fish and two 2" corys, so i would be worried about the tiger barbs, mollys, and corys,

He is a senegal birchir, i thought he was becoming a bit of a menace lol because i caught him with a phantom tetra in his mouth, hence why they have been moved. Both these fish were given to us when we bought different tanks, i didnt buy them by choice, although they are very pretty. The senegal birchir is about 8 inches, so looks like i will have to watch him aswell.
