I know you've answered some of these already but it would be good to answer the rest.

1. Water parameters. (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, PH, temp', Hardness etc)
2. A full description of the fishes symptoms.
3. How often you do water changes and how much.
4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water.
5. What tank mates are in the tank.
6. Tank size.
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish?

I unfortunately am not sure what is going on :/ You might want to try bloodworms or soaking his food in garlic.

I hope someone more experienced comes along soon. Really sorry to hear this and hope he starts eating again soon.

Garlic smells good and is yummy apparently to the fish, and it boosts their immune system. ^_^
I'm not sure where exactly you'd buy it though unfortunately. You can also find fish foods with garlic added, like New Life Spectrum Thera A.

Is he alone in this tank? And how often do you change his water and how much do you change at a time?

Can you possibly get a picture of him?

I'm not sure if it's spawning mode or anything like that, is there a female with him? :)

Glad you feel I've been of help!
