Well... what's possible doesn't always happen.

For example, horses and donkeys CAN interbreed (using artificial insemination) but don't do it on their own.

Then where do mules come from...?

From artificial insemination.

Hehe, I like a good debate. I think you might be referring to a hinny (much more rare) and not a mule. To get a premium mule, one would artificially inseminate if the desired horse and donkey won't mate, but, some will breed without any human intervention.

There seems to be quite a bit of info saying that it is possible to cross Mollies and Guppies. One interesting forum post said that a male molly and female guppy (female could die???) is a no-no but the other way around is plausible.

Interesting argument...

I see no possible way a female guppy could deliver babies from a male molly safely since baby mollies are much bigger when born :/ But the one above apparently came from a female guppy and male SAILFIN molly... How? That is the only question I have. Sailfin molly babies are bloomin' big!

And I agree Eagles - Caution should be used when housing together simply because there is a possibility of it happening. It's not definitely yes but it's not definitely no so caution should be used.

Like a hinny... female donkey, male horse...

A horse only qualifies as a horse if it's over 13.3 hands. Anything under than is a pony

I know because the Shire Horse x Dales Pony, Blaze, at the farm near me doesn't qualify as a horse because he's only 13.2 hands tall

Plus you also get different sized donkeys ;)

So the "horses" they use are actually possibly male ponies.

I've seen that, they look exactly like the molies that came from a pair of pure molies I had once. They admittedly didn't live long and I didn't sell any. I never managed to get any pictures because I didn't have a very good camera and they were active fish.

Maybe your mollies weren't so pure Ruskul :)
How long did yours live?

Ruskul??? It's Paradise3...

And they were. They were from a breeder that had 3 generations back of them. The deformed ones only lived 3-4 months.

i dont see the point of breeding them though the outcome isnt that good looking either and to think they dont even live long kinda inhumane
