Platys And Male Female Ratio

Basically the title says what I am wanting to know I just started up my 29 gal tank again and I have 1 male platy and 2 female platys in my tank. Also have an algae eater , small frog and 5 neon tetras. My question is Should I have a few more female platys in my tank so the male doesnt overwork the two females? what is a good ratio of male to female?

thats a good ratio the more females the better tho

1:3 is normally the ratio for most male to female livebearers i think, but agree with above the more the merrier lol

Well when I got mine I was told 2 females to every one male. But I'm no expert just what I was told.

Thanks That is what I thought, But I couldnt remember, This is the first Time I have had my tank set up in over 4 years. My son loves them.

I know what you mean, my first fish were platies, I really enjoy them they're quite interesting lol, would be nice to setup a platy only tank one day...
