Hello all my platy has swim bladder he's my favourite an first ever fish, he's had babies with mom platy and he's never hurt them so I adore him, his names flash so more info
My tank is fully cycled and I've fasted him and fed peas his swimming on his right side in circles sometimes turning fully onto his back, he can't get to the top to eat flakes so I've hand fed him this morning, is there anything I can do to help flash get better or is it just too late? Please help ASAP
Edit: he's had injures over night and has a swollen eye from a guppy attacking him so I've put him in a breeding trap away from the others so he can't get hurt anymore, he's also swimming with his tail bent to the air

Have you tested your water? That is a good place to start. Sometimes high nitrates can cause fish to bend sideways.

I've just checked the nitrates and they were at 50 so I did a 30% water change he's up and swimming now I'm over the moon you deserve a fishy medal !, he is still a little side floppy but he's off his back an side now that's gotta be a start, I can't thank you enough.. What would be my next step now to make sure he's ok x

I'd monitor him closely and keep the water pristine and see what happens so long as he is improving. If you have more or worsening symptoms there could be more involved.

He's pretty constipated aswell, he's poop is thin and stringy, I don't think it's internal parasites I've done another small 5% water change he seems to be perking up a lot, I'm still Gna keep him isolated as he looks more damaged from injury now I think other fish saw him as weak so all had a go at him :-(
I know it's only a fish but he's like my baby

I did another 5% water change before bed and I've woke this morning and he's swimming in circles on his head again :-S

Is he doing a sort of cork screw swimming in circles? Can sometimes be a symptom of a parasite called gill flukes. It is worth a google to see if that might describe you fish.

I think he's giving up tbf he's just lay on his head, but I won't give up until he does
He's hurt all his eyes they seem dark :-(

Yeah, doesn't look too good, poor little guy.

It is a shame Wilder isn't around anymore... no idea where Wilder went.... best member for knowing what to do.

Yeah, honestly He was suffering so I've just put him out of it, I've got the kits to put them to sleep while u opperate so I just put him in a bowl waited until he was asleep and added a bit more, then tipped a little vodka to make sure he wouldn't wake up, I am devastated.. I was so upset while doing it :-(
Thanks for the help x
