I have my tank running for a few dats and i have had my platy in there for 3 days. Whenever i try to feed them i cant get them to see the flakes i put in. They haven't been eating much but algae off the glass and gravel.
Is this bad!?!?!?

Did you do a fish in or fishless cycle using Ammonia? Explain how you cycled it? Thanks
Fish out. I basically had the filter and heater running for a while, my source of ammonia was fish food and i had a decaying crayfish. I then cleaned up everything after a long time, did prob a 80% water replacement and tested the water and the ammonia levels were great

For me a fish not eating is usually the first sign that they're dying. All my fish are quick to get at the food. But your platy is probably still stressed from being moved from the store to your tank. It took my platy almost 2 weeks before he would start eating off the top with the other fish. Just give him some time. It could also be because your tank is still in the cycling process.. How many platys are in there?

The dead crays probably cycled your tank so let's get back on subject here. Give your fish a chance to adapt to your tank. They have just been dropped into an unfamiliar set of surroundings which can put a fish off its feed.
