Platy Mama Pregnant

Hello! Haven't been on the forums in a while, anyways, do you remember that sunset platy that gave birth about 4-5 months ago? She's pregnant again, err, was pregnant, I was going to put her in the trap last night, (as I don't have any plants in the tank yet,) I had to get rid of them as they had algae all over them, I'm going to buy some later on today, anyways, she looked like uber pregnant last night, I decided to wait till the morning, well, apparently when I checked on her right now, looks to me like she had them already she's skinny again, but no babies to be seen, (as their are no plants to hide in) So,... now I have to wait another month or even longer, as she only seems to get pregnant every 3-4 months, Well, that's my little story about Elise, she still has 6 of her babies with her in the tank, (20 gallon tank) their fully mature now, I'm not sure if I want to sell them, or what,...

Welcome back Dude. Sorry to hear you lost the latest drop from Elise. Why not get some simple java moss? I find it will grow even if I leave the lights off in a tank. I had a few tanks with no lights but the room they were in, my fish room, has a small North facing window. After a few months, my java moss in those tanks had doubled in size and had no algae, not enough light for algae. It makes a good cover for livebearer fry and is an almost totally care free plant.

Lol Kizno! Yupp! That's me for ya! My Molly fry are fully grown now, I have one male left, (he's probably almost 1 1/2 years old,
I did go to the store today and got a plant as well as a nice freeze dried bloodworm treat for my fishies,
I have 6 of the babies that are fully mature, (From Elise) their actually 4 males/2 females,.. lol
I'm going to phone the store to see if I can sell them to him, have to many for my tank
I just checked their site, their closed tonight already, so I shall call tomorrow to see if he wants them, I sure he will as they sell platies there

Good about the molly fry. I ended uo getting rid of all my livebears there was just to many fry. I just breed my BNs now. I struggled to sell guppies, mollys and platys thats part of the reason i gave up. The LFS just wouldnt buy them off me but where happy to have them for free . Hope you get a good price for your

I was wrong with the fish though, it was Sophie that had the babies, but she died a month or two ago, Elise is the one that just gave birth 2 days ago, but that was her first pregnancy and I missed it, so hopefully in another 4-5 weeks I shall have more babies again!
