Platy Lost Scales

My platy has lost some scales but dont know why. Theres nothing in the tank that could cause damage every day shes loosing even more. What should i do?

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I ended up adding some waterlife Protozin as I thought it maybe some kind of fungus (I also saw some evidence of whitespot on another fish) so it seems like the best option.

The scales are now showing signs of return.

Wait it out though as someone else might suggest a less extreem course of action

No extreme measures for me. When I see anything causing injury to any of my fish, my first response is always a huge water change, just in case something is wrong with the water.
We only measure nitrogen with our test kits but lots of other chemicals exist in typical tap water and aquarium water. Since I can't measure them, I simply assume there may be something wrong and start by providing known good water for my fish. In almost all cases, the fish start to improve almost immediately.
