hello i got some platys off my mate about a week or two ago he said 2 off them are pregnant i didnt intend to breed them i just wanted something other than bottom feeders and i can see the orange one with a big large belly it is really noticeable but i couldnt find out who the other one was and i just kept checking if the big orange one had pooped which it still hasnt and thought mmmm no fry until i went to bed and turned the lights off and i was looking at my tank and seem them all beside a cave close to the class so no other fish can fit in they have huge heads when there fry they look really funny lol

just to keep you updated on my tank

cheers also have a really big preg guppy thats going to pop soon

This is what happened to me, i ended up with 1 batch of guppies, about 45, then 4 batches of platties. Took me about 4 or 5 months to shift them!!

If you participate in your local fish club, they will have regular sales or trading sessions where you can dispose of surplus fish. I regularly sell fish at local club auctions, my own and other nearby clubs. What I find is that well cared for fish demand a premium compared to other fish at those sales. A nearby club recently held an auction where I sold lots of hard to find fish from my tanks. The end result was that even after I bought lots of fish food and some hard to find livebearers, I ended up with a very small bill when I left. The club always takes a percentage during such sales to pay for the place where the sale is held and even to make a bit of profit for the club. In this case it was a 25/75 percent split but I have sold fish where my percentage was only 70%. The sales support the interesting speakers the club must pay for at regular meetings.

We have a guide to local fish clubs right here on TFF. It is located here. If you still cannot fins a local fish club, try a Google search and see what comes up. I have had some good success in finding a club within 100 miles of almost anyone I tried to help find a club. The FAAS listing of clubs also helps if you are in the US or even in North America. I am sure there is a similar location that could be used in other locations.

I am very sorry not to be able to help you directly. We have lots of North American and UK listings but have none specifically for Northern Ireland. You might try casting about using Google or a similar tool to see whether or not there are nearby clubs. My own club is over 50 miles, over 80 KM, away from my home but it is the nearest one to me. I have been a member there for 2 years now to help me make the connections that I want to make. By participating in my local club I have learned of other nearby clubs and have found fish that I would never have found without those contacts.

found some more fry there so adventurous i have a platy and a guppy going to drop any min lol
