Platy Family Getting Too Big

I was wondering what people do with fry that they don’t actually want? I made the mistake of letting my Sunset Platy population build up to an unsustainable level because I didn’t have the heart to cull, and was too lazy to try and find another home for them.

Now that I’m looking for a new home for them I’ve found that my local shop doesn’t take fish back, and I haven’t had any luck advertising them for free locally…

I know that breeders cull so that they are left with the most striking fish, but I would assume that most people are in a similar boat to me. Any other ideas?

i had that problem and ended up having to use my baby turtles tank as a second fry tank.
i noticed over the months how the numbers slowly reduced and i realised sid was having a field day with his tasty new tank mates

so i no longer 'save' livebearer fry. if they survive in the main tank good for them but rarely many do!
