Platy Breeding Traps Etc.

All fry will readily eat almost anything and will grow like so many little weeds. It is important that you provide them with a balanced diet, not one too high in protein or starches or any other component. I favor typical flake foods for what I consider a good reason. (I certainly may be wrong) I carefully select my flake foods to match the nutrient needs of my fish and I expect the fry to prosper on that same exact nutrient mix. If I am right, the adult food, ground to a powder between my fingertips, should be nearly ideal for the fry too. Fry size is not a major problem with most livebearers. Livebearers in general have an advantage of being born large enough to eat many foods, unlike typical egg layer fry that require extremely small foods at first. For those I keep some microworms and banana worms as a first food. Even those are too big for some egg layers that require infusoria, something anyone with a sponge filter has, even if they do not think of their filter quite that way.

its strange but i tend to use the net to catch the babies when they are first born then i use the plastic one until they are big enough to got in the main tank. i se the net so they can be caught and the female gets less stressed out and the plastic one so i can see the babies and do a small minor health check every morning and or evening. Also i can see how much foos they are eating.
