My new pintail girl was going about her business eating dinner when I noticed two fry tails sticking out of her. So I promptly set up a breeder net, put her in it, and shortly after, 2 little fries were born  She is cruising around the net wondering what the fuss is.

I am excited about this as the mum is a pintail platy and the only one I have ever had....pintail, not platy :p

EDIT: I have removed her and put her back in her regular tank.....along with a feed of bloodworms....I counted approx 25 fry which are all very listless atm. The ones born first are starting to explore :D

Congrats Chook! That is so exciting, I don't think I've ever seen a Pintail Platy before. You'll have to give us pictures of the fry when they are grown a little more, so we can see the Pintails!

Congrats again! :D

P.S. Just looked at her pictures...she is sooo pretty!

The fry are doing good though I am a bit worried about a few of them....some of them seen a bit "sleepy"....like not really responding to food and not moving all that much. When they do move they are swimming fine but seem reluctant to move. I am thinking they may have been born a little early as there were a few fries born not fully developed (still in a sac type thing)...the ones that are moving are darting about like theres no tomorrow.

That said, they are under 24 hours old, maybe I'm expecting too much of them.

Still very cute though....a lot of them have black on them allready which I guess is expected as their mum is a tuxedo wag

Well just to prove me wrong the little babies are now all swimming around chasing each other. I have never had this many platy fry at once and never had platy fry with black so early...EEEKKK....I am excited now.....

So now I have guppy fry, platy fry and swordy fry all at the same time
