Plastic Mesh.....

hey all
I have ordered some Riccia and am thinking of putting a carpet of it in my tank.
I have read the guide to making it and went out to find some plastic mesh- i found plastic gutter guard. The thing says it won't rust or corrode, so i was wondering if this is alright to use for it??
