Hi guys

Need some plant in my tank and as I've got cichlids I'm looking for something that will grow on rock or wood ( mostly rock ) I have a little bit of mood in there now, more comming in the next 2 days. I also have a plant growing on some bog wood ( Anubis I think). It's the only wood I have so it's pretty much taken. I have 25-30kg of rock that look a bit plain so any ideas please

Preference :-
Easy care
African species

The plant I've got is Anubias barteri var. nana there is also a bigger species, ( this is African )
Liking the java fern. Can I attach it to rock?

Java fern will grow on any surface, I even have them on the tank glass.
Make sure the tubers are not covered by the substrate.

Yeah i have both java fern and anubias nana attached to various things in my two 10gal tanks.

Java Moss grows pretty easily on rocks or wood, either tied on with thread or fishing line, or super glue will do the trick as well.

Is that safe

Super Glue is safe as long as 100% Cyanoacrylate.
Will dry instantly once in water and turn white but will turn clear after a while, use sparingly on root of plant though.
I've used this method for my java fern to bogwood, no problem at all.

Normal sewing thread will simply disintegrate over time, no harm to stock or tank.

Fishing line stays pretty much indefinitely and is safe, you may want to cut this line off once plant has rooted to rock or wood after a month or so.

Yeah i just stick to fishing line for all of my plants.
