Fish Fanatic
Well, I grow my plants for aesthetic reasons -- I just prefer the way they look over the silk/plastic ones. And I'm with mr_miagi -- it's a nice challenge and diversion from the fish. Gives me something extra to fiddle with in the tank.
Of course, I like that the fish are happy with the natural setting, too. But here's my real test: Do you let your fish eat the plants? I think that's how you can really tell if you're growing the plants for yourself or for the fish! I don't mind my fish nibbling a bit, but anything that gets eaten is gone, asap. So obviously I'm growing the plants for myself, and not for them!
