Planting White Mangrove Seeds?

I don't have a refugium but will set one up soon. In the meantime, can I just bury the seeds in the sand of the main tank that is already established?

If it is open topped then I guess in theory you could...

Maybe the fish might eat the seeds?

ive heard they do best if you plant the seeds in freshwater and then when the first leaves appear increase the SG of the water.
