I have a 1.5 gallon tank with a betta inside and a plant, the tank has a built-in filter which i managed to reduce the flow rate and it also has built in LEDs on the lid. I was just wondering if i need to put the tank next to the window for sun? Or can the LEDs work for the plant. Thank you. Im new to fishes so pls go easy...

LEDS work for my planted aquaria, I have a fluval long and it works fine. may I asked how u reduced flow rate because im having an issue with that >.<

Not what you asked, but a 1.5 gallon is too small for a betta. 2.5 is considered the minimum, but 5 or 10 gallons is ideal.

LEDS can work for plants, as long as they're the right kind. Do you know what kind your tank came with?

I agree with squidneh in tank size for sure. Hpyour betta would be much happier with more room. But another question to ask is...what kind of plant is it that you have?? Some need more light and some need less. So we can't really answer too much as we don't know the type of plant. As for putting the tank to where it gets sun...not necessarily a good idea. Other than algae issues I would think that, especially in this small of a tank, that the temperature could fluctuate too much. Bettas need right around 80 degrees to be happy and healthy.
