i think i may be seeing the onset of an ich outbreak in my heavily planted freshwater tank.
one of my apistogrammas has a single white spot on its tail (it has been there for weeks).
it is only one single spot on the very edge of the fin membrane, about the size of a grain of salt. it has not increased in size or number.
if it is ich is there a plant safe medication available in the uk?
also, i know that turning up the temperature for an extended period can get rid of ich but i do not know if all of my fish will put up with it.
the fish i have are ; 2 bolivian rams, 3 aggassiz apistogramma, 3 ottos, 4 marbled hatchets, 6 black neon tetras and 2 dwarf gourami.
will they all survive the required temperature increase to get rid of ich or will i just have to medicate and hope for the best?
is there anything else it could be other than ich?

probably ich. i say use small doses of medication and see what happens. raising the temp to much or to quickly can easily kill fish. i have yet to hear of a medication that will kill plants, but if it makes you feel better, get a smaller tank to keep the sick fish from giving it's friends the sick. make sure the tank is clean and includes at least a filter. even a small one.
