Plant identifications please

All right, plant lovers. If you could help me identify these two, I'd appreciate it. The first was found in a Canadian Atlantic coast freshwater river. The second comes from a tissue culture I lost the label for.

The first appears to be some sort of hygrophila and the second looks like a red rubin sword.
But since the only expertise I possess in the plant world is how to efficiently eradicate them I wouldn't listen to me.
 
The 2nd looks a lot like some sort of echinodorus hybrid - perhaps reni but the leaves look a bit narrow. There are 20 or so variant including red horemanii, little bear, red pheonix ... mostly just mentioning names in case you recognize one.
