I forgot to write down what I bought. It looked lovely in the fish store but immediately began dropping leaves when I got it in the tank. The stems are almost bare. It is starting to show some new growth now. Should I cut the stems back and re-root them?

Looks like rotala. It’s usually sold in its emergent form of round leaves then when transitioned to submerged they get thin long leaves.

Rotala was my thought too but the leaves looked wider in pics I pulled up. That explains why. Thanks!
