After returning from a 4 day trip and being 3 weeks into a fishless cycle I found my tank clear and needing another dose of ammonia to start my cycle again, and several plants that had started or turned brownish due to a lack of light for those days.
My question is - should I remove these dead plants or will they be ok to leave during whatever time I have left in this fishless cycle. I'm producing lots of Nitrites with ammonia going to 0 in a 12 hour period and I have next to none Nitrates so far. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

am no expert but you may aswell remove dead plants as they arent doing anyhting, cause well, there dead.

Any decaying plant matter will eventually start to leech ammonia into your tank and should be removed. :good:
