diy co2 is essentially useless as it causes fluctuations in the amount of co2 in your water. (e.g, it produces more when the mixture is new and gradually the pressure drops).

i used to use that, until i went pressurised (co2 fe) and you notice how much differance it makes. maintaining a constant is the ideal. and get a reg and soleniod and you can save yourself gas by wacking on a timer.
a lush green/yellow when lights come on ideally.
