I've ordered,on line, some plants i.e. Foreground- Cryptocoryne lucens(x3) and Echinodorus tennellus (Mini sword)(x2). Midground-Cryptocoryne pontederifolia(x2), Microsorium pteropus (Java fern)(x5) and Backround- vallisneria asiatica(x5), Echinodorus Paniculatus (Amazon sword)(x2) and Elodea Densa(x1). I only have gravel on the bottom but have ordered grow tabs. Could you please tell me what other plant food i would require and how often, to keep the plants healthy. The tank is a Fluval Roma 125L with two lights in the tank hood, a 24 inch, 20w (t-8) Power-glow and a 24 inch, 20w (t-8)Aqua-glow. Thanks in advance for any advice, Alan

Have you actually any water in the tank yet?. A layer of something like Tetra Complete Substrate under the gravel would make a lot of difference.

Unless your planning on adding CO2 and possibly extra lighting, don't worry about liquid fertilisers for now.

Grow tabs should do great as long as you replace them when needed, if the plants have been settled and growing for a little while (say a month) and are showing signs of deficiencies, then you should think about finding a suitable fertiliser.

But if your plants are growing at a normal healthy rate, adding extra liquid fertiliser doesn't usually help unless your water is deficient of something.
