What's in your inventory?
I went through my plant nutrients to check for contents. I removed the one Nutafin bottle that had .15% N. I don't need any more N because the water parameters for my fish recommend N at 80-60ppm and I have a good supply in the water column. I think I'll add some to my mom's house plants the next time they get watered. It's my job and is done weekly using my siphon hose. I don't need any more N because the water parameters for my fish recommend N at 80-60ppm.
Anyway, I have k2o, b, co, cu, mn, mo, zn, rb, ni, v, fe+2, fe, s of varying quantities in the form of water soluble plant foods and they are all within the expiration date stamped on the bottles.
Using expired plant food can introduce toxins into the aquarium environment that not only kill the fish, plants, but also the beneficial bacteria that is helping us keep the water contaminate free. So, now is a good time to check the dates of your supplies and discard any that are out of date. It will also allow you to take note of which element you have and if you know plants well, which elements you might be lacking.
