I am thinking about growing some plants in aquarium without co2 and I also don't want plants to spread uncontrollably. So I have decided on plants that do not grow in substrate but attach themselves to rocks etc. I know about anubias and java fern. Any other plant like them ?

What about Cryptocoryn Wendtii (green) ? Can it grow like that or it need to have underground roots. I am open to growing plant in pot. How do you pot plants ? just take off wool and put them in pot ? No clay or sand required ?

You could always just trim or remove any new plants as they spread? Then you can have whatever you like in there...

Or you can plant it in a small pot with no holes so the roots won't spread underneath thereby controlling overgrowth. Done that with some aponogetons before til my puffers decided to shred them apart lol

I wouldn't tie cryptocorynes to wood.  I know some people have done it successfully, but I've seen how long the roots on cryptocorynes get.

ok so no crypt wendtii on wood. So I will probably go for java fern tied to rocks and crypt in a pot.
