Pink Con Breeding Question

hi everyone my pink cons had there first set of babies like a month ago and now they have another batch of eggs and they arent eating the first batch they seem to be still taki g care of them because when i stick my hand in the tank they grab the babies and deffend the eggs. Is this normal and the the male is like 2.5inchs and the female is like 1 inch. the funny thing is is this is the second time they have breed and they havent made a mistake yet

convicts are prolific breeders and good parents. They will produce young every month throughout their lives if given a chance. Don't bother keeping all the young alive because you won't be able to get rid of them. Just pick out 10-20 nice young fish and destroy the others. Grow the small group up and sell them to the shop. If you keep everything produced you will end up with thousands of fish and nowhere to get rid of them.
