I have a pictus catfish & he's not suited to the tanks I have at the moment.however I can't bring myself to find him a new home. So I'm thinking of starting up a new tank at the moment (possibley get another two as ur meant to have 3). What tankmates would go well with him? I'm thinking cichlids?

If you decide to get more....I have 3 pictus catfish living happily on a sandy bottom tank with a red peacock, yellow peacock, and ruby peacock cichlid swimming above. The cats and the peacocks ignore eachother and seem to be very good tankmates. Starting from scratch I'd recommend a 50+ gal (220l?) 4 ft tank with maybe 6 cats and 4 or 5 peacocks. A black sand bottom with rock decorations and caves and a few plants will make for a very nice looking tank.
