Pim Pictus Catfish

Hey all, can anyone tell me if pim pictus and angel fish can go together and what other fish can! Thanks

Pictus Catfish are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of 6+. So, more PCs would be ideal, however they are also compatible with Rainbow fish, medium to large-sized characins, cyprinids and tough catfish (ex. Loricariids or Doradids). Good luck!

Pictus are carnivores and will happily munch on smaller fish and do need a fair bit of swimming room - they are maniacs and easily startled. What sort of size tank were you thinking of adding them to?

Simply put, they are mental fish - they're like mini aquatic unguided missiles. I had the pleasure of moving mine across from a tank that was too small for them into one that should just about do them (4ft/370L) and trying to catch them (using a jug, as nets can tangle in their barbels) was a nightmare. Was weird to hear them humming when I'd caught them in the jug though.

A huge clown loach pictus and rainbow tank would be great I reckon

The new tank is a work in progress (thread in New Worlds) but I'll see if I can get a few pic's of the pictus next week - from previous experience they don't take to tank movements too well and take awhile to build their confidence back up. Great fish to watch when they're active though.

I had some Pictus Cats.
They were absolutely mental. Especially at feeding time.
