not bad you could buy some cheap suction cups of ebay and stick the airline to the glass will stop it floating around the tank. and have you ever considered a sand substrate looks great imo

Thanks and good Idea I might try that one day maybe save up a whole lot of money for aquarium sand of will playsand or crafting sand that people put in botles work

or used kiln dried block paving sand from wickes!

as the posts above say argos play sand or block paving sand works fine just make sure you give it a good wash and its really cheap (think its like £3 for around 15kg )

Most people seem to have more success with plants on sand, actually.

as long as you stir the sand (i only mean gently) once a week or so it will stop the sand compacting plants generally do better in the sand tho you could also use cat litter under the sand

it doesnt stop it just slows it down if it gets to compact it will hamper the roots on the plants

So i guess when the goldies go into the 50 gallon I will do that
