Hi again.

Well here are the 3 replacement females that we got today. They have settled in ok and we haven't had a problem so far......fingers crossed. The unexpected male seems happy in his 50litre tank with the cory's for now and loves the coconut cave.

I've got my 28ltr set up and should be ready to transfer him into in a few days when I get some plants sorted.

that last one is a plakat female if im right.... shes stunning

Thanks everyone :) Glad to say that we've had no mishaps and all 5 females are doing fine. We have spent months looking for females and a male and researching on the interent and in that time I've become very keen on the PKs so great to hear that it looks like we have 2 even if it is by default :D and under the tank lights their colours are amazing. One of the dogs in particular is very keen to watch them swimming about.......just means we have to keep wiping his wet nose smudges off the front of the tank

they are lovely! i love the first two...

the last one looks like it COULD be a pk male, the tip to its anal fin is very sharp and quite long... keep an eye on her

Thanks Blue-Betta.........Oh heck not another one  It's so difficult to get it right especially when you're trying to point out the ones you think are girls to the person catching them for you. Will keep an eye on him/her. There has been a little flaring but not as much as the other one. If it is a male then one of them will have to go back as we don't have room for another :(

Thanks Nakomis. We took quite a while picking them out and checking for ovi spots but wondered whether they did catch the ones we wanted. We are watching them closely and none of them are acting like the first male we removed but are sorting out their heirarchy. All 5 are chasing each other at the moment. How long does it normally take for them to settle down?

i thought that too. They look very young so that spot could vanish yet, just keep an eye. They are all beautifal tho

Here is a much better photo. Hope it may help clarify sex. If not we will just keep watching.
