Tank and fish look amazing. Could you not put that pair of Denisonii barbs in that tank with the ones you already have?

thanks kizno :good: ,

the other 2 barbs are twice the size of mine and fully grown so it might look a bit odd  also i think 7 is enough in this tank to be honest...

Could you put all of them in the 6foot tank then? I get what you mean about the size difference but i would think they would catch up fairly quick.

yeah they all could go it the bigger tank but im really happy with this tank at the minute and wouldnt want to break it up yet.... also the bigger tank in my eyes would look too stocked with 9 barbs as well as the others. who knows maybe if this tank gets too small for them then at least they have a nice big tank to enjoy if it comes to it :hey:

I;m loving that tank mate, very impressive

Never considered keeping Denisonibarbs but they look ace!!!

cheers Simon :good: i actually have wanted the barbs for a long while now but didnt really see them as great tank mates for discus due to their active and fast nature. so the discus went and the barbs moved in and im very pleased with the tank again, there is much more movement and things going on now. i also removed my group of rummynose tetras and added to the cardinals making 1 big group of 19. i think the colours of the fish in the tank look great and my final addition is going to be my group of gold stripe corys when i get to close my last small tank down.

Looks great!! Absolutely love the barbs, their colour and size looks spot on for your tank. B-) B-)

Would love to look at getting some if/when my danio numbers dwindle. Gold stripe corys, are those the Gold Laser Corys? I was hoping to add them to my tank but can`t find any locally

Very nice tank :good: :good:

thanks for the kind comments :good: yes gold stripe/gold laser are the same fish just 2 different common names. i use to breed them and green stripe/laser corys too but closed the tank down due to lack of time to keep it going  ive now sold the greens and couldnt sell the golds for the price i wanted so ive kept them and removed some loaches fromm this tank to make room for them :hyper:
im lovin the barbs they are very active and shoal very tightly, they make a great fish to watch. mine are about 3 inches so are about halfway to being fully grown. the only problem with these fish is the price ive seen them at about 1.5 inch for sale at £15 each  and 2.5 inch at £10 each i got mine for £15 each and got a deal as i bought a group :good: an lfs sells them at £25 each at the same size as mine. so if you do go for them shop around to get the best deal. the best deal may not be the cheapest and a lot of mail order companies send really small barbs  i think the price must put people off as all my lfs that sell them seems to have them for ages, this is also a good bargaining point :hey:

Thanks for the info and tips Matt.

I would definitely love to get some of the gold lasers, they`re striking, wish they were more widely available.

The barbs are really lovely, the splash of 'girly pink' colouring is perfect for me  I`ll keep my eye out when I go to MA near me, I get stuff at a really good price over there.......nowt to do with the fact I spend a fortune there though :look:

why did you get rid of the discus mate?

to be honest as much as i love their looks etc they just werent the fish for me.... i like movement in a tank and the discus didnt really do much of that! also since removing them my cardinals have become right little explorers and are all over the tank, the same goes for my SAE, they must have felt threatened even though i never saw any of the discus go for anything other than each other. also the fact that we had a new born to deal with and time wasnt on my side  i still see them now and then over at walkers101 though :good:

Wow nice tank mate-love the barbs-big shoals look cool.:hyper:
thanks Paul, they look great dont they :good:
